　　WhenChurchillvisitedHarrowonOctober29tohearthetraditionalsongsagain,hediscoveredthatanadditionalversehadbeenaddedtooneofthem.Itran:

　　Butwemustlearntobeequallygoodatwhatisshortandsharpandwhatislongandtough.ItisgenerallysaidthattheBritishareoftenbetteratthelast.Theydonotexpecttomovefromcrisistocrisis;theydonotalwaysexpectthateachdaywillbringupsomenoblechanceofwar;butwhentheyveryslowlymakeuptheirmindsthatthethinghastobedoneandthejobputthroughandfinished,then,evenifittakesmonths-ifittakesyears-theydoit.
