(laughter) im learning that nifty trick where you can charge your mobile phone battery from your chair battery. genius. we are learning from each others strength and endurance, not against our bodies and our diagnoses, but against a world that exceptionalizes and objectifies us. i really think that this lie that weve been sold about disability is the greatest injustice. it makes life hard for us. and that quote, "the only disability in life is a bad attitude," the reason that thats bullshit is because its just not true, because of the social model of disability.
no amount of smiling at a flight of stairs has ever made it turn into a ramp. never. (laughter) (applause) smiling at a television screen isnt going to make closed captions appear for people who are deaf. no amount of standing in the middle of a bookshop and radiating a positive attitude is going to turn all those books into braille. its just not going to happen.

It’s noticable that western holidays are bacoming increasingly popular day by day，while chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected. not long before about 10 doctors in beijing university and qinghua unversity announced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays，because they regard western holidays as an challenge against our traditional festivals and culture.
Frankly speaking，i don’t quite agree with them.indeed，we should never neglect or even discard our traditonal festivals as china boasts a brilliant history and splendid traditions. (examples).but why can’t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture.
There are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand，some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful，such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand，the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend，chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.
With the further development of the whole world，the cultural communication between different countries and nations becomes faster and more and more important. we are indeed from different nations，but we are the citizens of the same world，so the outstanding culture of different nations is the commom wealth of everyone on the earth.the only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture? the answer is definitely no. what we ought to do is to spare no effort to educate chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture. only by educating can we preserve and promote the wealth that our ancesters left for us.

Good morning，it's my honor to stand here and give you this speech about dreams. there i want to start my speech with two short stories.
The first story happened when i was in primary school，i wrote in my composition that my dream was to be a teacher when i grew up. meanwhile，what my classmates wrote about their dreams was that he or she wanted to be a doctor，a scientist or an astronaut.
The second story happened at my first year in university. at the careers planning class，when the teacher asked about our dreams，one of my classmates stood up and said，“i want to be a farmer，because i grow up in a farmer's family and i love to be engaged in agriculture.” when he sat down，everyone clapped.
These two stories happened during my growth process，from which i got my understanding of dreams. when i was a child i believed that a dream must be a big dream，but when i grow up i find this big dream is so far away from me，i know little about it，and i have done nothing to achieve it，so it's not my dream. my classmate's answer let me know a real dream is not just about being a great man，or doing a great job，it's about what you really want to be，and are willing to try every effort to pursue it.
Because what makes a dream valuable is not just about the result，it's also about the process，the process when you are trying，when you are struggling，when you failed and restarted again and again，because of the process，dreams can be meaningful and become your wealth.

There was once a beggar who was always happy. the king saw him and wondered why he was so happy because he was so poor. however, the king could have whatever he wanted; yet he himself was not happy at all. thus we can see one’s happiness doesn’t depend on whether he is rich or poor. happiness is a state of mind. as long as one thinks he’s content and satisfied, he is happy.
As everything exist only because its opposite(对立的), happiness exists only when pain exists. just as a person who does not know failure never knows success, a person, who has not experienced suffering or sadness never knows what happiness means.
Happiness always promises (允诺) a hope by which people go on living. when they come to the point of losing hope because they have suffered a great deal, it is often the time when happiness comes that will give them the courage and desire(渴望) to live.
Cheer up and be happy. happiness is not far from you. it’s just around you. try to grasp(抓牢) it and enjoy it.
